THE TAROKO ORGANICS STORY
I spent many of my pre-teen years staying with my grandmother, uMaceduma. She told us many stories about how different life was in her growing up, their travel adventures, politics and their dependency on plants. They lived a self-sustaining lifestyle depending on nature, taking care of it so it could take care of them. Like any grandmother she had a hack for everything. Many of these hacks I had grown to forget, until this day in the middle of our beautiful Taroko trail hike when my friend started getting an unbearable itch which must have been an allergy of sort. We had nothing on us that could help the itch, the only thing we had was water and maybe the plants around us. Coming across the aloe plant, we both remembered its healing properties thanks to our grannies. We cut the leaf out of the plant and opened it to reach the sticky gel, we both rubbed it on our legs thoroughly and miraculously all that itching was gone instantly.
From that moment I became more curious and went back to research for months and months the many gifts of this plant, I experimented with different kinds from different regions, tried and tested until I found our best. Home grown in the wild beautiful Cape of South Africa.
So much has happened since then, we continue to research and source the best ingredients and develop amazing products in line with this idea. We have since grown into a bigger team including some of the most exceptional product developers, nutritionists and wellbeing enthusiasts!
